Why Propane?
Asphalt production is an energy-intensive process, which is why most asphalt producers primarily focus on cost when choosing a fuel source. Propane is an economical, readily available fuel source and a cleaner burning alternative to traditional fuels like oil and diesel. In alignment with The Road Forward, the industry-wide initiative to achieve net zero carbon emission asphalt pavements by 2050, many asphalt producers are currently transitioning to propane for their asphalt and aggregate operations.
Storage Options
Two bulk propane storage options Alliance Truck and Tank recommends for asphalt producers include the Turnkey Skid Package and the Porta Pak. Both options are easy-to-install, ensure a continuous fuel supply for plant operations, and the ability to acquire propane at full truckload, wholesale prices. Additionally, our propane storage solutions are either skidded or mounted on running gear giving you the flexibility to access remote locations or move from one location to another with relative ease. We offer 18,000 – 30,000 gallon capacity Skid Packages and 18,000 gallon mobile Porta Paks. Either option may be customized to meet your needs.
Turnkey Skid Packages
The Turnkey Skid Package includes an 18,000 or 30,000 gallon, 250psi ASME compliant, National Board certified propane storage vessel on fire proofed supported by a skid. It also includes new valves and piping package, dual-purpose transport unloading/ burner loading bulkhead, 3″ pump with 10HP 3-phase electric motor, pneumatic emergency shutdown system and finish paint. Upon delivery, just tie in to the vaporizer / burner, plug it in to power and go!

Porta Paks
The Porta Pak offers the ultimate in mobile propane bulk storage making it ideal for remote asphalt plants. The Porta Pak includes an 18,000 gallon, 250psi ASME compliant, National Board certified propane storage vessel, single or dual style bulkhead to receive transport loads and load the burner system, emergency shutdown, dual-axle tire system and a king pin that enables hook-up to any standard heavy duty tractor.

All Skid Packages and Porta Paks are completed per current NFPA 58 Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code and customizable to meet your specific needs. We can either use our experience to design a storage solution or you can provide requirements and we will build it to your specifications.
